FinkTeams BORG Episode 2 is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker with a 260 mm (10 ¼”) high performance bass/midrange driver and an Air Motion Transformer (AMT) as tweeter.
The development of the BORG Episode 2 was a great challenge, because combining a 260 mm (10 ¼”), albeit extremely high quality, bass-midrange speaker with a tweeter is no easy task. Combining the two drivers to produce a smooth frequency response – and more importantly, a smooth transition from midrange to tweeter – is a significant engineering achievement. There is no lowering of the midrange outside the listening zone.
The BORG Episode 2 is a far more living-room friendly loudspeaker than the WM-4, and in the bass range the BORG Episode 2 is tuned to give music weight and drama, and is also easy to position in the room.
It is obvious that the BORG Episode 2 does not achieve the unique qualities of the WM-4, but it does not require such a large listening area. Please believe us when we say that the BORG Episode 2 naturally accepts the challenge of the finest electronic components, but these are not a prerequisite for enjoying the qualities of the BORG Episode 2.
